US National Treasures to Travel

/

It is that time of the year again, you’d want to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and go for a nice vacation with your friends and loved ones.

Out of the endless list of activities and destinations to visit for a vacation, the US National treasures must have crossed your mind. In this article, I dedicate my time to give you a nice preview of 4 great US national treasures that might be a good travel destination.

  • Glacier Bay National Park, Alaska

This automatically had to top my list. From a young age, I would sit and watch the beautiful Glacier Bay on TV, it was one of the most amazing things I had ever seen.

Located in Alaska, Glacier Bay is one the US treasure that over the years has attracted domestic and international tourists.

I assure you that your visit to the place will be worthwhile. Wildlife and plants are thriving there and the views are spectacular. Some of the wildlife that you’re likely to see when you visit this national Park are wolves, moose, mountain goats, deer, bears, eagles, trumpeter swans, and seals.

In fact, for most people, a trip to Alaska had inspired them to be environmentalists. Over the years, the glacier has reduced in size due to the effects of the ozone layer depletion causing an increase in temperature therefore melting the glacier.

  • Craters of the Moon, Idaho

This location now set as one of the US treasures was formed from molten Lava over 15 million years ago. It is situated between the town of Arco and Carey.

Craters of the moon are one destination rich with history. Tracing back to 1879 when it was first explored and studies done by geologists to 1924 when it was declared one of US national treasures.

Besides that, there are a lot of activities you can do, like going to caves at the previous lava holes or going for a hike in the morning. It is also an ideal location for family camping.

  • Grand Staircase-Escalante, Utah.

Covering over 1.5 million acres of Canyons, Grand Staircase-Escalante is one historic public land surrounded by huge sandstone cliffs.

If you’ve ever looked at some of the photos of this place, you’ll probably tell how much scenery it is.

Another thing I love about this place is that it’s located beside two beautiful parks, (Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef national parks) that can add to the list of places to visit in Utah besides the Grand Staircase-Escalante.

  •  Historic Swimming pools

The US has used swimming pools for a long time now to commemorate what has been going down in history since its Independence. Some of its pools have also made it to the list of US national treasures.

First off, there is the McCarren park swimming pool in Brooklyn, NewYork. The two Hearst Castle pools (Neptune and Roman) also have some rich historic significance. These two pools define architecture and design! The Roman pool has …
